The remarkable introduction of a serial killer. I finished the TV show inspired by the character of Hannibal Lecter last week and thought it was a good idea to review this awesome movie that paved the way for the show. In here we can see pretty much Hannibal at its core and see how well he was portrayed from the books and his concept. This serial killer is a rare one that has a gigantic ego and knowledge on almost everything you can imagine. He eats parts of his victims and feels no remorse for his actions. For this movie, they decided to choose the perfect actor for the role: Anthony Hopkins. His work is splendid as he delivers his lines as a true monster. Hopkins already said that he almost devours his part before he goes into the set. His work is extraordinary as it can be seen in this movie and some of his other works (watch Westworld, just mentioning because I think everyone should check it out). Clarice, the main character, also does an amazing job. However, even though Hannibal is not the protagonist, he is the one that stands out the most, more than Clarice or Buffalo Bill (the antagonist). Hannibal is the one that stayed in everyone’s minds after they saw this movie, he is the one everyone thinks when you mention The Silence of the Lambs. It is his story after all (based on fictional books about him). Because it is such an old movie by now, I believe most of you have already watched it, so this review was more of a divagation on the character of Hannibal than anything else. I already said I finished the show recently, so it has been on my mind. I believe that If you are interested in this type of story check it out, the movie and the show. If you are new to all of this and haven’t even heard of the film, go watch it.
